One of the UK's most popular automakers has confirmed that drivers are set to benefit from further savings through the Electric Car Grant.
Kia has announced that the Kia EV2 Long Range variants are eligible for tier one of the Electric Car Grant, allowing motorists to save £3,750 off the price of the vehicle.
The Long Range variants include the Air (£24,245), GT-Line (£28,995) and the GT-Line S (£32,595), thanks to the savings from the Government's scheme.
Motorists opting for the Kia EV2 First Edition Standard Range variant (42.2kWh battery) will save £1,500 through the ECG with an on-the-road price of £26,995.
The Kia EV2 has a maximum battery range of 281 miles and rapid-charging capabilities, going from 10 per cent to 80 per cent in around half an hour.
Kia's designation means that it is currently one of only seven brands to offer fully electric cars with the maximum Electric Car Grant.
It comes as Kia has broken several new sales records in the UK, recording its best-ever first half, second quarter and June.
Data from the Society of Motor Manufacturers and Traders (SMMT) showed that Kia, which is now the UK's third best-selling brand, registered 65,300 new vehicles in the first half of the year.

Of these, 18,241 were all-electric between January and June, made up of the EV2, EV3, EV4, EV5, EV6 and EV9.
Kia also has its PV5 Cargo and Passenger commercial vehicle, which has helped bolster the South Korean brand's sales total by around 2,500 cars.
The Kia Sportage is the UK's best-selling family SUV with almost 26,000 registrations so far this year, making it the second best-selling vehicle.
Kia has also seen strong returns from the Picanto city car and the Stonic compact crossover, with 6,939 and 4,725 registrations respectively.
