Grounded Cafe Bars is the latest hospitality chain that appears to have shut its doors

A much-loved coffee chain has closed all of its cafes without any notice in a blow to its customers.

Grounded Cafe Bars, a well-known hospitality chain operating across Bristol and Wiltshire, appears to have ceased trading at all eight of its venues following nearly two decades in business.

These closures are believed to have occurred around TuesdayJune 23, with customers given no prior warning of the shutdown. The chain had served the local community since 2008, building a loyal following over its 18-year history.

No official statement has been issued regarding the sudden closures, leaving regular patrons without any explanation for why the popular establishments have shut their doors.

The restaurant group had established itself as a favourite destination for both residents and visitors, renowned for serving freshly prepared dishes alongside locally-sourced coffee from Clifton Coffee roasters.

When the venues first went dark, many loyal customers believed the closures were merely a temporary measure in response to the recent hot weather.

However, more than a week has now passed and none of the eight locations have reopened their doors.

At both the Bedminster Parade and Fishponds sites, tables and chairs remain inside the premises, though the entrances are secured and lighting has been turned off.

No notices have been placed in windows to explain the situation to passing customers.

Brislington Grounded on Sandy Park played host to a very popular weekly quiz as well as many regular coffee and cake fans, south Bristol Voice reports.

The publication also noted that while attendance had declined at the Bedminster branch, it had served as a valuable community hub hosting social gatherings, craft sessions and business meetings in its spacious premises.

No official communication has appeared on the company's online channels.
