Bar + Block, Table Table, Cookhouse + Pub, Brewers Fayre and Beefeater sites will close their doors between September 3 and September 10
Whitbread has confirmed the final closure dates for all 261 of its restaurant locations, with five brands set to disappear from the high street within a week.
Bar + Block, the steakhouse chain with 20 sites across the country, will close its remaining restaurants on September 3.
Table Table and Cookhouse + Pub restaurants will also cease trading on September 3, with Brewers Fayre locations following four days later on September 7.
Beefeater will be the final brand to close, with its remaining sites winding down on September 10.
The closures form part of a wider restructuring by the owner of Premier Inn, which is shifting its focus towards its hotel business while reducing its exposure to the restaurant sector.
Whitbread announced the plans earlier this year amid rising operating costs across its restaurant business.
In April, Whitbread chief executive Dominic Paul said the company had been forced to take action "in light of significant cost increases" linked to increases in employer National Insurance contributions and business rates.
The company said the changes would form part of a five-year strategy aimed at reducing costs and strengthening the wider business.
As part of the restructuring, Whitbread intends to sell 110 of the affected restaurant sites.
Other locations are expected to be converted for alternative uses, including plans to create around 600 additional hotel rooms.
Whitbread expects the measures to deliver savings of around £250million.
The company has also outlined plans to dispose of £1.5billion of freehold property as it seeks to generate capital for future development.
The restructuring is expected to affect around 3,800 jobs across the business, although Whitbread has said it expects to retain a significant proportion of affected employees.
A Whitbread spokesman told The Sun: "As a business which recruits around 15,000 people every year, we expect to be able to retain a significant proportion of those affected and will be looking to redeploy as many of our impacted colleagues as possible."
The changes will bring an end to the presence of five established restaurant brands operated by Whitbread.
Bar + Block, which first opened in 2016, operates 20 restaurants and was launched with the aim of attracting a younger customer base.
The chain has promoted offers including two-for-one cocktails and bottomless brunches during its time in operation.
Customers have also previously praised individual Bar + Block restaurants for their food and drinks.
The closures mean customers have only a limited period remaining to visit the five brands before their respective final trading dates.
Bar + Block, Table Table and Cookhouse + Pub will close on September 3, followed by Brewers Fayre on September 7 and Beefeater on September 10.
Whitbread’s restructuring will leave Premier Inn as the central focus of the group’s operations as the company reduces the number of restaurants it operates and converts some former restaurant sites into additional hotel accommodation.
The company has said the changes are designed to reduce costs, release capital and support its longer-term plans for the hotel business.
