'We need the voice of the people, especially for the agricultural sector,' Gareth Wyn Jones celebrated

Farmer Gareth Wyn Jones has hailed GB News for championing Britain’s countryside community through thick and thin.

The Welshman was speaking from his farm in Snowdonia as The People’s Channel marks what makes the nation great throughout the day.

“I want to start by saying: diolch yn fawr iawn,” Mr Jones began in Welsh.

“That means thank you very much for everything you've done for the farming community over the five years. You've been amazing.

“You've been on all the protests, all the rallies. You've been very, very supportive. And we needed that.

“We thought mainstream media wasn't giving us the coverage. And you came up, and you have been absolutely wonderful helping us in all corners of the UK.

“Through the droughts, through the protests, inheritance tax, TB, you've covered everything, and that's really important to us.

“So I can only thank you from the bottom of our hearts, from the farming community."

The Welshman has been appearing on The People’s Channel since it began five years ago.

He revealed that some of his friends did not see the point in him doing so but soon changed their minds.

“A lot of them have really changed their mind about the channel, and a lot of them now were very much more supportive", he explained.

GBN Breakfast host Ellie Costello chimed in, reflecting that the channel had “come a long way”.

“It’s grown to be the most watched channel in the country. And you've been watching from day one, haven't you?”

“Since day one, I absolutely love it,” Mr Jones responded enthusiastically.

“We need the voice of the people, especially for the agricultural sector.

“It hasn't been easy. It's not easy this year,” the farmer continued.

Nevertheless, he praised GB News for representing those concerns, but also celebrating the good times.

“You're bringing voices of real people onto a real channel where we can add our frustrations", he said.

“GB News has given us the opportunity to have a voice for our frustrations.

“But also our joys; we celebrate those as well. Thanks to you for all the help, all the coverage,” Mr Jones added
