Former DUP leader Sir Jeffrey Donaldson has been found guilty of 18 historical sex offences against two women when they were children.
A jury at Newry Crown Court in Northern Ireland convicted Donaldson, 63, of one count of rape, 13 counts of indecent assault and four counts of gross indecency.
He previously pleaded not guilty to the offences, which spanned between 1985 and 2008.
His wife Eleanor Donaldson, 60, has been found to have committed the acts relating to the offences of aiding and abetting over historical sex offences following a trial of the facts.
She denied several charges of aiding and abetting her husband of 39 years.
Mrs Donaldson faced a trial of the facts on mental health grounds, which cannot result in a criminal conviction but tests the evidence.
Complainants A and B, who legally must remain anonymous, gave evidence at the trial, claiming they were abused as children.
Donaldson spent two days giving evidence as well, where he continuously denied the allegations.
The convicted sex offender served as leader of the DUP between June 2021 and March 2024.
Donaldson was arrested on March 28, 2024 by the Police Service of Northern Ireland, being charged with rape and other sexual offences.
His wife was also charged with aiding and abetting in relation to the same matter.
The now convicted paedophile stepped down as leader of the DUP the following day.
The jury deliberated just 10 hours and were asked back into the courtroom after lunch today.
After their verdicts were delivered, Judge Paul Ramsey expressed his thanks to the jury.
The judge said Donaldson would be subject to a "lengthy sentence of imprisonment".
He will remain remanded in custody, showing no emotion as he was escorted from the court.
A review hearing will happen on September 11, following by a sentencing hearing later in the month.
