A childminder who called for "mass deportation" of migrants on the day of the Southport attacks will appeal her sentence.
Lucy Connolly is due to have a bid to appeal against the sentence heard on Thursday at the Court of Appeal in London.
The former childminder, who is married to Raymond Connolly, was sentenced at Birmingham Crown Court last October after pleading guilty to a charge of inciting racial hatred.
Raymond had been a Tory West Northamptonshire councillor, but lost his seat in May.
His wife Lucy wrote the post on X on July 29: "Mass deportation now, set fire to all the f****** hotels full of the b******* for all I care… if that makes me racist so be it"
The post followed the attack by Axel Rudakubana on July 29, 2024 where the teenager murdered Alice da Silva Aguiar, nine, Bebe King, six, and Elsie Dot Stancombe, seven.
Following the attack, there was a period of national unrest as mosques and asylum seeker hotels were targeted after it was wrongly claimed the perpetrator was a migrant.
Connolly's post was viewed 310,000 times in three-and-a-half hours before she deleted it.
It comes after a committee of MPs ruled the Southport riots were fuelled by an "information vacuum."
Their report said: "However, the lack of information published in the wake of the murders of Bebe King, Elsie Dot Stancombe and Alice da Silva Aguiar created a vacuum where misinformation was able to grow, further undermining public confidence.
"We respect the Crown Prosecution Service’s [CPS] commitment to minimising risks to successful prosecutions, but it is clear that neither the law on contempt nor existing CPS guidance for the media and police are fit for the social media age."
