Migrant crisis: Multiple small boats containing HUNDREDS of illegal migrants arrive in Britain for first time since Andy Burnham became Prime Minister

GB News can exclusively reveal authorities from the National Crime Agency made the first ever seizure of small boats in the UK

The first small boat migrants have crossed the Channel under Andy Burnham, GB News can exclusivley reveal.

Just under 100 small boat migrants are currently in the water, with more suspected to be on the way.

In addition to this, UK authorities also made the first ever seizure of small boats in the UK.

It comes as Prime Minister Andy Burnham is under fire from backbenchers over Shabana Mahmood's proposed asylum reforms.

GB News has obtained exclusive pictures of the border security command vessel coming into Dover harbour this morning with the first arrivals at daylight today.

Rob Bates from the Centre for Migration Control told the People's Channel: "Andy Burnham has entered Downing Street with no plan to crack down on illegal migration.

"This is a man who previously called for Channel migrants to be given the right to work, and suggested they have access to social housing - a huge pull factor that will incentivise even more young males to make the crossing.

"The new PM is a soft touch on the single most important issue facing the country, and it is almost inevitable that the crisis is going to worsen on his watch."

It comes as GB News can also exclusively reveal that UK authorities have made the first ever seizure of small boats in the UK, which were destined for people smugglers in France.

At least 25 boats and the same number of outboard engines were seized at the Felixstowe container terminal.

National Crime Agency officers, working with specialist search teams from Border Force made the massive seizure at the weekend.

The ten-metre long rubber boats and Parsun outboard engines were in a container that was being shipped from China.

It is the first time a bulk consignment of boats and engines destined for people smugglers has been seized in the UK.

The next stop after Felixstowe for the vessel transporting them would have been Hamburg, Germany, where investigators believe the cargo would have been offloaded.

Germany is a well-known staging post for boats and equipment used by cross-Channel people smugglers in northern France and Belgium.

With each boat able to carry around 80 people, authorities estimate they have disrupted the eventual transportation of around 2,000 illegal immigrants across the English Channel.

An Agency spokesman told GB News there was no suggestion that the crew or operators of the ship knew what was in the container.

NCA Branch Commander Adam Berry told the People's Channel: "This was a significant seizure of small boat equipment which will put a huge dent in the profits of the criminal network involved. It will also have stopped these dangerous boats and under-powered engines being used to put lives at risk in the Channel.

"Once we identified that the shipment would pass through a UK port on its way to Germany, we were able to work quickly with our partners at Border Force to ensure it would go no further.

"Targeting the supply lines of people smuggling gangs is just one way we are trying to disrupt them. Our investigation continues."

The NCA said it currently has more than 100 investigations ongoing into individuals or networks involved in people smuggling.

Wednesday's illegal arrivals across the English Channel, are the first small boat crossing in almost a fortnight, after windy weather prevented people smugglers from launching their dinghies.

The arrivals take the number of illegal migrants who have crossed the Channel so far this year to more than 12,500.

That figure is more than 40 per cent down on the number of illegal arrivals last year.

Maritime security sources have told GB News that weather conditions in the Channel, coupled with increases French patrols around Dunkirk and Calais were forcing smugglers to launch boats from further down the French coast and likely explain the some of the drop in illegal crossings.

Reform UK Shadow Home Secretary, Zia Yusuf, said: "Migrants have heard the message loud and clear: With Open Borders Burnham in charge there’s never been a better time to make the crossing.

"Illegal arrivals are set to surpass 13,000 this week and with Andy Burnham now in No10 and four more days of flat weather ahead the terrifying thing is that numbers are going to increase massively.

"Only Reform UK has the courage to leave the ECHR and detain and deport all illegal migrants."
