A grandfather from Leicestershire is facing a profitable 12 months ahead following his triumph in the National Lottery's Set For Life draw.
The man, who chose not to reveal his identity, secured five main numbers to claim a substantial reward worth £10,000 per month over the coming year.
The fortunate individual, who purchases tickets through the online platform, described himself as an occasional player who buys tickets sporadically.
His response upon discovering the windfall captured his disbelief at the unexpected fortune.
"I checked expecting nothing at all, so to see a win like this was the most incredible shock."
He added: "It took a good night without much sleep and a phone call before it finally started to sink in."
The man verified his entry on the evening of the draw, anticipating no success whatsoever.
Shannen Smith, serving as winners' advisor at Allwyn, which operates the National Lottery, offered her felicitations to the fortunate recipient.
She said: "Congratulations to our lucky Leicestershire winner.
"He checked on the night of the draw expecting nothing, so what a wonderful surprise this must have been.
