Twenty fire engines and around 125 firefighters are responding to a fire on Hannah Close, Neasden

A fire has broken out in north west London as thick plumes of smoke fill the city skyline.

Twenty fire engines and around 125 firefighters are fighting the industrial blaze on Hannah Close, Neasden.

Immediate advice from London Fire Brigade states: "Residents in the immediate area should close doors and windows, remaining inside where possible, due to the large amount of smoke being produced."

Shocking video footage shared online shows billowing black smoke rising hundreds of foot above buildings.

The London Fire Brigade said: "Twenty fire engines and around 125 firefighters are responding to a fire on Hannah Close, Neasden.

"The fire is located on an industrial estate. Three of the Brigade's 32m ladders have been mobilised to the scene as part of our response.

"Tube services on the Metropolitan and Jubilee lines will be impacted as crews respond.

"The Brigade's Control Room took the first of over 70 calls reporting the fire at 1134.

"Crews from Wembley, Park Royal, Willesden and surrounding fire stations have been mobilised to the scene."

The Jubilee line is part suspended with no service between Willesden Green and Wembley Park and minor delays on the rest of the line.

A TfL spokesman said: "No service between Willesden Green and Wembley Park and minor delays on the rest of the line while we respond to a fire alert at Neasden. Tickets will be accepted on London Buses."

The entire Metropolitan Line has been suspended due to the ongoing blaze.

"No service on the entire line while we respond to a fire alert at Neasden," TfL added.

One video shows smoke billowing from what appears to be a large building near the Chiltern Line, which runs directly alongside and through Brent.

Unconfirmed reports on social media have suggested there may have been an explosion at a waste and recycling facility near IKEA and Wembley Stadium.

A witness told Metro: ‘There’s a huge plume of smoke it’s a massive fire.

‘It’s on an industrial site where Amazon warehouses are. Loads of fire engines have been whizzing by it’s obviously a huge deal. The sky is filled with smoke.’
