A woman has been charged after four men were rushed to hospital following a stabbing in Covent Garden.
Stella Gollovena, 47, of no fixed address, was charged with with four counts of wounding with intent to cause grievous bodily harm and one count of possession of an offensive weapon in a public place.
She has been remanded in custody to appear at Highbury Magistrates’ Court this afternoon.
The charge comes after police were called to reports of a stabbing on Endell Street, Covent Garden, at around 12:27pm yesterday.
Metropolitan Police officers attended the stabbing alongside the London Ambulance Service and London’s Air Ambulance.
Four men – aged 34, 39, 42 and 56 – were found with stab wounds and taken to hospital.
Their injuries were all non-life-threatening or nor life-changing and they have since been discharged.
Five police cars and more than 20 officers were seen responding to the incident.
Chief Superintendent Jason Stewart, who leads policing in the area, said yestarday: “Officers responded within minutes of this incident after receiving a number of reports.
“While still at an early stage of the investigation, we would like to reassure the community that we currently believe this to be an isolated, mental-health related incident.
“A visible police presence will remain in the area while evidence is gathered at the scene and we thank the public for their understanding.”
It comes just days after the Met issued a plea to another individual who is wanted in regard to a separate stabbing.
Detectives are investigating the fatal stabbing of a 21-year-old student, Finbar Sullivan, in the north London park.
The filmmaking student died in the early evening on Tuesday, April 7.
A manhunt is underway for 22-year-old suspect Jordan Asije, and police released a photo on Tuesday morning.
The force has urged the man, who is known to frequent north London, to “do the right thing” and hand himself in.
Another man in his 20s also suffered injuries, which were not life-threatening or life-changing, police said.
Detective Inspector Andy Griffin, who is leading the investigation, said: "Jordan, if you are reading this, I urge you to do the right thing and hand yourself in at the nearest police station.
"I also want to make it clear that anyone knowingly assisting Jordan to evade arrest, or harbouring him, may be committing a criminal offence and can expect to be investigated and dealt with robustly."
Mr Griffin added: "My thoughts remain with Finbar’s family following their truly devastating loss.
"We have made significant progress in understanding the events that led to his tragic death and our enquiries continue.
"As part of this work, a reward of up to £20,000 is now being offered to encourage the public to help us arrest everyone we believe was involved in the murder."
