Donald Trump has announced the ceasefire deal with Iran is now over, branding the IRGC as "scum" and "sick" after strikes targeted US military sites across the Middle East.
Washington and Tehran had signed a memorandum of understanding on June 17, which paused provocation between the two countries and committed to a 60-day negotiating period to reach a final, lasting peace agreement.
However, last night saw the US launch "powerful" strikes at dozens of targets in retaliation for Iranian strikes on commercial oil tankers in the Strait of Hormuz, according to US Central Command (Centcom).
Donald Trump was aware of the strikes on Iran and approved of the plans while in Ankara, Turkey, according to Axios.
When asked if the ceasefire was over, Mr Trump said: “They are scum, as far as I'm concerned it’s over.
"As far as I'm concerned, it's over. I'll speak to our negotiators, they want to negotiate. As far as I'm concerned, it's just a waste of time dealing with them."
He said the US military "attacked very powerfully" last night, adding: "They're sick. There's something wrong with them.
"We said 'go and do your funeral stuff', and instead of that, they start shooting rockets and ships yesterday. So we hit them very hard last night."

The strikes were "20 times tougher" than the Iranian retaliatory attacks, Mr Trump said.
He added: "I told them every time you hit, we hit. Then of course they're dirty players so they go after everyone. So we don't like them, I don't like them, and they're evil people."
The President also said he does not think Iran "know what the hell they're doing", and that Tehran should have made a peace deal "a long time ago".
He added: "These are evil, sick people, and we have to rid - they're cancer. They're cancer. And you know what you do? You got to cut out cancer early."
LATEST DEVELOPMENTS
At 2.44am, Centcom said it completed the round of "offensive" strikes, hitting over 80 Iranian targets "with precision munitions".
A statement said: "US forces struck Iranian air defense systems, command and control networks, coastal radar sites, anti-ship missile capabilities, and more than 60 Islamic Revolutionary Guard Corps (IRGC) small boats in and near the strait to degrade Iran’s ability to continue attacking international commerce flowing through the international trade corridor."
An hour later, the IRGC said it targeted 85 US military sites "in response to US ceasefire violations".
The IRGC listed military targets in Bandar Salman, Bahrain's Fifth Naval District and Ali Al Salem Air Base in Kuwait.
US Central Command said it struck over 60 IRGC 'small boats' | US CENTRAL COMMANDIt also claimed to shoot down a US MQ9 drone attempting to interfere in the operation.
Iran had earlier targeted three commercial vessels transiting the Strait of Hormuz, including the Marshall Islands-flagged Al Rekayyat, Saudi Arabia-flagged Wedyan, and and Liberian-flagged Cyprus Prosperity, Centcom said.
It was this initial provocation that caused the US strikes and first breached the ceasefire by initiating military fire.
Meanwhile, Tehran blames the US for violating "adjustments" in the Strait of Hormuz, persistently threatening further strikes, and reinstating oil sanctions.
