Four men are set to appear before magistrates charged with committing serious sexual offences, including rape, against teenage girls in Kirklees.

The men have been charged as part of an ongoing Kirklees Police investigation into the sexual abuse of three teenage girls, then aged between 14 and 15, between 1998 and 2000.

The offences were reported to have largely taken place in the Kirklees area.

The men will appear at Kirklees Magistrates’ Court on Wednesday September 23.

Johnathan Harrison. 46, has been charged with five counts of rape, one of indecent assault and one of child abduction.

Mohammed Jahanghir Afsar, 54, has been charged with four counts of rape.

Naseem Risalat, 47, has been charged with two counts of rape and a count of aiding and abetting rape.

Kirklees Police is continuing to conduct enquiries in partnership with the Crown Prosecution Service as part of the investigation.
