GB News named News Programme Of The Year at the National Reality TV Awards

GB News is celebrating yet another award win - after being named News Programme Of The Year at the National Reality TV Awards.

The People’s Channel walked away with the gong following a ceremony in London on Wednesday night.

Presenters Nana Akua, Miriam Cates, Charlie Peters and Alex Armstrong were on hand to collect the accolade, which is voted for by the viewers.

Speaking on Patrick Christys’ Tonight after last night’s win, Nana said: “When we started, everyone thought that we'd only last six months. And now here we are, winning awards constantly. It's just phenomenal. I'm so grateful to be part of the channel and part of the whole progress from the start. It's just absolutely amazing.”

Alex Armstrong added: “We wouldn't be here without our amazing audience, would we? That's what it's all about.”

And Charlie said: “We always win the awards when it's about the people voting. Don't you think that's interesting that when the juries have a say, it's a bit tougher for us? When the people back home, when they have their say, you get to hold a gong like that, don't you? Not so bad.”

Commenting on the win, Ben Briscoe, GB News’ Head of Programming, said: “We’re delighted to take home this award for the second-year running. It shows how GB News is now cutting through the broader TV and media landscape, and our brand is being enjoyed by a younger audience. We’d like to thank everyone who voted for us.”

The win is the latest in a string of gongs for Britain’s number one news channel.

In June, GB News won the TRIC Award for Best News Programme for the fourth consecutive year after an outpouring of support from viewers for The People's Channel.

The broadcaster triumphed over BBC Breakfast, Good Morning Britain and ITV Evening News. And in April the channel was named Start-Up of the Year at the prestigious Campaign Media Company of the Year Awards 2026, recognising its rapid growth and its transformational impact on the UK media landscape.
