So instead of political parties focusing on delivering for the British public, we are now to spend our time ruminating over a sting operation perpetrated by activist actors intent on getting their man, Nigel Farage, having spent almost a year trying.

No, I don’t like any dodgy dealings or bad behaviour by any political party, but how on earth can any of the others dare to have a go at Reform UK for a conversation that did not lead to any real action after the nonsense that we’ve had to put with from them for decades?

Let’s take a look at our current incumbents, the Labour Party who have just deposed of their leader over frankly sleaze, having secured a massive majority after promising to eradicate it.

The Labour Party are constantly going on about the last 14 years of Tories, but what about the two years of Labour?

They began with Freebie gate, a load of ministers caught out accepting gifts, with Keir Starmer being the worst offender.

Louise Haigh sacked after an old conviction re-emerged, Tulip Siddiq, anti-corruption minister, resigned over allegations of corruption, Rushanara Ali, homeless minister evicted her tenants and subsequently raised the rent on her property.

Mike Amesbury, arrested after punching a constituent to the floor, given a suspended sentence. Angela Rayner, housing minister sacked for not paying the right stamp duty.

And possibly the most egregious of all, Peter Mandelson, whose best buddy Jeffrey Epstein was a known paedophile having spent time in prison for it, yet Mandelson was still appointed ambassador to the US. And that’s not even the full list.

The Labour Party have literally just got rid of Keir Starmer over incompetence and sleaze and now they want jump on the bandwagon over a conversation after senior aides to Nigel Farage alluded to helping hide a foreign donation.

They were fired immediately when the conversation was revealed, a donation was never taken, and as we all know clips of conversation can be misleading.

It really winds me up when politicians and their aides are caught out in what can only be described as sting operations. I think it’s extremely unfair.

If someone wants to get you to say something and is pretending to be someone else, I’m not sure how admissible that evidence can be, given that when it is shown, the full context is often missing. I am uncomfortable making judgements on people who have been entrapped in this way.

All parties do things that the electorate are not impressed with when it comes to the finances and donations, but let’s remind ourselves, no donation took place in this case. It wasn't real. They were actors.

Yes of course do whatever investigations you need to do, but what the electorate want from a political party is to fix the economy, sort out illegal migration, so stop the boats, and we want them to represent the British people and work in the interest of the British people and not their own.

Activists Channel 4, BBC, ITV, and Sky News have all seen blood here. Let’s do what we did to Boris to Farage. They make no attempt to hide their contempt for him. Let’s destroy his support base by death of a thousand cuts like we did to Boris. Forget about the British public, here we go again.

Given what happened to Ann Widdecombe, you’d think they’d have more understanding instead of worrying about an activist being hit on the head with a stick by a pensioner and being dragged out of the conference. The security there was something else, and rightly so.

I’m not saying that Reform doesn’t have questions to answer, but at the end of the day, Nigel did the right thing and suspended the two people involved in the situation.

The British public want sensible economic policies from our Government, not distraction and overboard focus on activists with vested interests trying to set people up.

Arthur Laffer, one of the most prominent American economists and a former adviser to three presidents, said the UK was “in a death spiral” with “too little growth, too little prosperity”.

He warned Mr Burnham against a fresh tax raid in next month’s Budget, saying it would only worsen Britain’s problems. I want focus on that, they’re killing us with tax. Don’t take your eyes off the ball.

Yes, Labour have gone up in some polls. I suspect that what they are experiencing right now is a Burnham bounce.
