Nigel Farage Reform UK made major gains across Britain last night in a special bumper night of by-elections taking place up and down the country.

The populist party emerged victorious across seven by-elections in a bumper night of 21 contests from the northern Highlands to the south west coast.

Mr Farage's party won seats in St Helens and Tamworth, picking up seats in Cambridgeshire, Rhyl South, Nuneaton and Staffordshire.

Both Labour and the Greens were able to make gains off each other in London while the Tories took a seat in Hertsmere, seeing off competition from the Liberal Democrats.
