In today's GB News Daily Reflection, we remember how theGospel of Matthew encourages those who feel overlooked or ordinary by highlighting Jesus Christ’s teaching that if God cares for even the smallest sparrows.
That way, every person is seen, valued and loved by God regardless of their achievements or status.
“Jesus points to something ordinary, a small bird that most people ignore, and says not even these birds escape God's attention.
“The point isn't that life will always be easy. In that same conversation, Jesus was honest about fear, stress, and hardship, but he said this. You are not invisible. He sees you. God is interested in you.
“The sparrows remind us that God's care isn't reserved for impressive, polished or powerful people. It reaches ordinary people living ordinary lives. And if God pays attention to sparrows, Jesus says, how much more does he care for you?
“So today, instead of asking, have I achieved enough or do I matter? Am I succeeding or failing at life? Try asking what if I was already seen and valued by God before proving or doing anything that frees us from having anything to prove or lose?
“And that one shift can change how you walk out the day. So take a moment today to slow down, breathe deeply, and remember you are not forgotten.
“The God who created galaxies also notices the tiny birds hopping around. Nothing is beneath his attention. Nothing is too small, and he is a God who cares personally.”
