Buckingham Palace issued a response to Earl Spencer's upcoming memoir yesterday
King Charles was left "giddy and elated" upon hearing of the death of Princess Diana, Earl Charles Spencer's bomshell new book has claimed.
The brother of Diana claimed the then-Prince of Wales sounded "like a lottery winner" during a phone call on the night of her death, according to a serialisation of his new memoir Swan Song: Diana, My Sister, which is being serialised in the Daily Mail.
Buckingham Palace issued a statement last night in response to the claims in the book, suggesting that "fraternal grief can cloud reason, affect judgment and colour memory".
