The Duchess of Sussex has an Instagram account with 4.1 million followers

Meghan Markle made a rare appearance in the comments section on Instagram to respond to a birthday tribute from her close friend Abigail Spencer.

Turning 44 today, the Duchess of Sussex has an Instagram account with 4.1 million followers, but always disables comments on all her posts.

Until now, she’s never been seen commenting on anyone else’s page.

Spencer, who starred alongside Meghan on Suits, celebrated their shared birthday on Monday, August 4, by posting a series of photos and a heartfelt message.

"As glorious as the day I met you. Champagne in human form. A creature unlike any other," Spencer wrote.

"Thank you for being a sister in this life, and beyond. Words can’t capture. From the rooftops. So grateful for your life, @meghan. Thanks for saving mine."

She finished with a reminder of their special bond: "Love, Abs. 44/4. 8/4/81."

Meghan replied underneath: "Thank you, sweet Abs! Right back at you, and happy birthday to YOU! 44/4."

The pair met in 2011 on the set of Suits, where Spencer played Dana Scott, a recurring character, while Meghan was paralegal Rachel Zane.

Their friendship quickly grew off-screen, and Spencer was among the cast invited to Meghan and Prince Harry’s royal wedding in 2018.

Spencer has long been a vocal supporter of Meghan, especially during difficult times in the spotlight.

In a 2021 Instagram post, she praised Meghan for having "modeled nothing but generous professionalism on sets and an even more generous friendship in private."

This year marks several milestones for Meghan. Based in Montecito with Prince Harry and their children, Archie and Lilibet, she launched her lifestyle brand As Ever and teased a new vintage from her rosé wine line in a sunlit Instagram video shared just before her birthday.

She has also returned to producing with her Netflix cooking and lifestyle series, With Love, Meghan.

Fans of the Duchess have been quick to celebrate her milestone birthday across social media.

As Ever’s growing success reflects Meghan’s evolving public role as both an entrepreneur and a creative force.
