The Duchess of Sussex is expected to blend her relaxed California wardrobe with more practical British styles

Meghan Markle's fashion has undoubtedly changed since moving to the United States six years ago, but it's expected to undergo another transformation, a style expert has predicted.

The Duke and Duchess of Sussex arrived back in the United Kingdom last month, just in time for the beginning of the school term.

Meghan, 45, grew up in California before moving to the UK in 2018. Two years later, the Duchess returned to California, where she would raise her two children, Prince Archie, seven, and Princess Lilibet, five, in Montecito.

Last month, however, the Sussexes made the surprise decision to relocate to the UK; it is understood they are residing in the Cotswolds, where Archie and Lilibet are going to school.

Speaking to GB News on behalf of Heart Bingo Online, fashion expert Lauren Bulla has spoken out about how the Duchess will approach her sartorial choices upon her UK return.

She said: "As Meghan has lived in California for six years, it’s expected her style would shift towards a Montecito vibe. We saw this come into play with her more relaxed fits, leaning into more casual linen and playing with accessories she may not have worn when she was in the UK, such as white brim hats and white knit jumpers.

"We saw that change once she moved to California, and that became more of her day-to-day style. When she was in the UK before she moved, we saw her wear restricted silhouettes; there was a modesty over her personal style.

"Tight necklines, long frames, and a neutral and muted colour palette. She would lean into weather-appropriate attire expected for London style specifically. She would dress smart with structured separates, backless classics, and a low-heeled pump. It was practical but still elevated.

"Concerning her coming back to the UK, she was in a very different period of her life than now. Meghan’s style will continue to resonate with casual pairings, looks she found comforting while in California.

"But this depends on where she and Harry decide to set up their base for the time being in the UK. If she does set up in the Cotswolds, expect to see her wearing wellies and trainers.

"We can also expect Meghan to adhere to harking back to British societal expectations with higher necklines and structured garments while still keeping with casual elements - wearing a pair of jeans and trainers."

Ms Bulla added: "There’s a lot of speculation about what her style will be like back in the UK. There will likely be some playful looks as well as formal ones.

"She’s played with colour a lot more in the States, so we might see a suit jacket with jeans, but lighter materials like linen will be swapped for more weather-appropriate fabrics to adjust to the changes as we head into autumn.

"Overall, we will see a blend of practical garments and sartorial elegance, with pops of her unique style. Meghan is known for her particular fashion choices, and she will stick to what she likes.

"We could see her wearing a trench-style coat, jeans, crossbody bags, and muted neutral patterns. She will opt for flats more than heels or pumps.

"As for designers, Meghan has always been known to work with various British designers and be styled for many events in the UK.

"But it’s never been exclusively this case; she often works with American and Canadian designers as well.

"We will no doubt see her wear her go-to favourite designers such as Stella McCartney, Safiya, Me+Em, AYR, and Veronica Beard, but that is just a select few designers she has worn in the past."
