On Thursday, Anne and Sir Tim Laurence will depart for Thailand

Princess Anne encountered members of K-Pop group NMIXX at a reception held at Seoul's Four Seasons Hotel today.

The event, organised by the British Embassy Seoul, brought together figures from across the UK-Republic of Korea partnership.

NMIXX is a popular six-member South Korean girl group formed by SQU4D, a division of JYP Entertainment.

They debuted in 2022 and are known for pioneering "MIXX POP," a musical genre that blends two or more styles into a single, high-energy track.

The Princess Royal's meeting with the popular Korean artists continues a pattern of royal engagement with the K-Pop industry.

In 2023, the King awarded MBEs to Blackpink during a ceremony at Buckingham Palace.

Blackpink were also invited to attend the State Banquet at Buckingham Palace in 2023 to honour then-Korean President Yoon Suk Yeol.

During the reception, the Princess Royal also held discussions with representatives from the city of Andong.

Sir Tim Laurence is accompanying Anne on the visit, with the couple remaining in South Korea until tomorrow.

Anne, 75, delivered an address at the reception celebrating the partnership between the UK and the Republic of Korea.

Her visit to South Korea has encompassed a range of activities demonstrating the depth of bilateral ties between the two nations.

The Princess Royal participated in events marking 75 years since the Battle of Imjin River, paying tribute to British servicemen who gave their lives during the Korean War.

Her programme has also showcased collaboration spanning multiple sectors, including maritime manufacturing, cutting-edge technologies, and academic research.

The visit has also emphasised people-to-people connections and causes close to the Princess Royal's charitable interests.

Following their South Korea engagements, Anne and Sir Tim Laurence will depart for Thailand, where they will spend two days.

The Thai itinerary includes a visit to a Bangkok school supported by Save the Children Thailand.

Princess Anne is scheduled to meet with Thai Prime Minister Anutin Charnvirakul and have an audience with King Rama X and Queen Suthida.

She will also pay her respects to Thailand's late Queen Mother, Queen Sirikit.

The programme features engagement with female scientists working in Thailand and attendance at a regional health security showcase.

The visit will conclude with an event celebrating cultural collaboration between the UK and Thailand.
