The Bayer Leverkusen defender is set to be named in the starting XI at the Azteca Stadium, with Djed Spence struggling after reporting a muscle issue on Sunday morning.
England are already without Reece James, who has missed the past two matches after sustaining a hamstring problem late in the goalless group-stage draw with Ghana.
The Chelsea captain has not yet returned to full training and was the only member of the squad absent from Saturday's session in Mexico City.
The Football Association said James was working on an individual programme away from the main group, while Tuchel admitted he would require a late fitness assessment before any decision was made over whether he could make the bench against Mexico.
Quansah's expected inclusion represents a significant call from Tuchel, with England's right-back situation having become one of the major talking points of their tournament.

Tuchel's side topped their group but have been forced to solve several selection issues, particularly in defence.
Ezri Konsa remains another possible option at right-back, though he has started all four of England's matches so far in central defence.
