With England failing to convince despite reaching the knockout stages, speculation has intensified over whether defeat on Monday could bring Tuchel's reign to an abrupt end.
However, according to The Telegraph, the FA have no plans to sack the German even if England are eliminated by Mexico.
The governing body is reportedly expected to judge Tuchel's campaign in the context of England's difficult route through the tournament rather than on a single result.
That represents a significant shift from England's previous match.
Tuchel would almost certainly have lost his job had the Three Lions suffered a humiliating defeat to DR Congo in the previous round.

Instead, Kane's intervention ensured England survived and moved a step closer to the latter stages of the competition.
Tuchel was appointed following Sir Gareth Southgate's departure with one clear objective: to win the World Cup.
Before the tournament began, the former Chelsea manager also signed a contract extension that keeps him in charge through to Euro 2028, which England will co-host alongside Scotland, Wales and the Republic of Ireland.
That agreement is believed to contain performance-related clauses allowing the FA to end the contract without paying substantial compensation if certain targets are not met.

Their projected route to the World Cup final could include meetings with Brazil, Argentina and France, with defeat to any of those heavyweights also unlikely to alter the FA's current position.
The mood inside England's camp is also believed to be playing a role in the governing body's thinking.
Despite criticism from outside over some of Tuchel's tactical decisions and his demanding management style, the atmosphere among the squad remains positive.
Questions have also been raised over Tuchel's decision to leave Trent Alexander-Arnold out of his World Cup squad despite England's injury problems at right-back.

Tuchel had been linked with a return to club management after the World Cup, particularly given his success at Chelsea, where he guided the club to Champions League glory in 2021.
But with many of Europe's biggest managerial vacancies now filled, the 52-year-old is expected to remain fully focused on England's campaign as he looks to justify the FA's faith and keep their hopes of lifting the World Cup alive.
How they fare against Mexico remains to be seen.
