Motorola has unwrapped an all-new folding phone, complete with 35 hand-positioned Swarovski crystals.
The snappily titled razr 70 with Crystals by Swarovski is a sparkling new addition to the foldable lineup it introduced back in April. On the outside, Motorola has fitted its razr 70 with a quilted texture to make the 35 crystals stand out. The design comes complete with a 32-facet Swarovski Crystal on the hinge, an ideal position to catch "the light with every flip, celebrating the silhouette which has made the razr so iconic," according to Motorola.
With so many crystals on the outside of your handset, you might be worried about them catching on the inside of your pocket, digging into your palms, or being chipped off when you (inevitably) drop your new Android device. Motorola has thought ahead, bundling a clear protective case in the box that spotlights the design "without hiding it".
According to the marketing material, "the result is a device that feels as refined as a piece of fine jewellery while maintaining the innovation and craftsmanship users expect from Motorola."
This incoming smartphone is priced like a piece of jewellery, with prices starting from £899.99 in the UK. Motorola razr 70 with Crystals by Swarovski will be stocked at John Lewis and Selfridges, as well as the Motorola online store when it launches on September 15, 2026.
Aside from the velvety texture and hand-positioned crystals, there's no difference between this and the regular razr 70 that's been on sale since late April.
As the name suggests, razr 70 is designed to be a reimagining of the iconic Motorola flip phone from the early 00s, which went on to become one of the best-selling mobile phones of all time, selling over 130 million units.
This updated model arrives with a roomy 6.9-inch AMOLED touchscreen, with support for 120Hz refresh rate to ensure animations are buttery-smooth and gaming on-the-go is as fast-paced as possible. Despite its palm-stretching screen, the razr 70 still folds neatly into your pocket, thanks to flexible screen technology, like what we've seen on the Samsung Galaxy Z Flip 7 and Galaxy Z Fold 8.
Motorola has fitted a smaller 4-inch screen on the outside to check notifications, send messages, and even run full apps without the need to flip the phone open each and every time you want to use your phone. On the back, there's a 50MP camera with optical image stabilisation, a sharp selfie camera, 5G mobile internet speeds, wireless charging and stereo speakers. It runs Android 16, with plenty of power for everyday apps and multitasking.
The standard non-Swarovski version of the Motorola razr 70 starts from £799.
