Embleton Bay in England came out ahead of beaches in the Caribbean, Canada and the rest of the UK, according to new data.

The findings, by Skyscanner, found the beaches that are highly praised by visitors, while remaining relatively unknown by tourists.

Many parts of the UK proved popular, with stunning beaches in Scotland, England and Northern Ireland all making the top 10 list.

TRAVEL INSPIRATION

Embleton Bay came out on top with an impressive 4.9 out of five rating, despite having just 329 reviews and an average of 4,400 Google searches each month.

Located on the Northumberland coast, the beach is known for its sweeping sands, rolling dunes and views towards Dunstanburgh Castle. It has a relatively remote setting which makes it ideal for a quieter seaside escape. There are also plenty of places to walk and explore on the surrounding coastline.

Second place went to to Rendezvous Bay in Montserrat, a Caribbean beach that remains remarkably under the radar.

The white-sand beach has just 66 reviews and around 2,900 monthly Google searches, yet those who have visited have given it an impressive 4.7 rating. Its peaceful setting and clear Caribbean waters make it a noteworthy alternative to the region’s busier resorts.

Castlerock Beach in Northern Ireland took third place, giving Britain another entry near the top of the global ranking. The beach has a 4.7 rating from 116 reviews and attracts around 8,100 Google searches a month.

Set along Northern Ireland’s dramatic Causeway Coast, Castlerock offers wide sandy shores backed by dunes, with Mussenden Temple providing a spectacular nearby landmark. It is also well placed for exploring some of the region’s best-known coastal attractions.

The list included several more British beaches, including St Andrews West Sands, Sea Palling Beach and Seacliff Beach, so British holidaymakers do not need to travel far for their next beach getaway.
