While school holidays are often associated with soaring prices, the latest research suggested there are still plenty of budget-friendly options available, particularly for those willing to be flexible.
Instead of traditional beach breaks, cities like Dublin, Prague and Barcelona are emerging as standout choices, pairing cheap flights with family-friendly attractions.
UK travel expert at KAYAK, Rachel Mumford, said: “From city breaks and culture-packed escapes to warmer-weather getaways, there are many destinations that offer a strong balance of price and convenience for families looking to make the most of the half-term break.”

Prague also ranks highly, with flights averaging £147. Known for its fairytale skyline and historic charm, the city’s walkable old town and iconic landmarks such as Prague Castle make it an exciting yet manageable destination for families travelling with children.
For those chasing warmer weather, Valencia stands out, with flights averaging £124. The city blends beach days with outdoor adventure, thanks to spaces like the vast Turia Gardens, which is perfect for cycling, picnics and relaxed afternoons in the sun.
