BONITA SPRINGS, Florida—On a warm January evening in southwest Florida, sitting on a dais with six other candidates in front of a massive American flag, former U.S. Rep. Madison Cawthorn presented himself to the ladies of the Women’s Republican Club of Naples Federated as the best candidate for Florida’s 19th Congressional District, summoned by the call of one of the greatest political thinkers of the Western world.
