Lee Andrews has returned to social media following the ordeal

Katie Price's husband Lee Andrews has emerged on social media following weeks of silence, alleging he was seized at gunpoint by armed men near the Hatta-Oman border.

The 43-year-old posted footage to Instagram on Tuesday evening, appearing with noticeably longer and darker hair than in previous appearances.

"I was taken close to the Hatta-Oman border by men at gunpoint and then I was captured by men with assault rifles," Mr Andrews stated in the video.

He claimed his captors "did slap me around a little bit, little s***s" before restraining him.

Mr Andrews alleged he was bound, placed in shackles and had a hood put over his head before being transported to what he described as a "black site" operated by an arm of the National Guard.

Mr Andrews maintained that regional tensions and his proximity to the border led authorities to suspect him of espionage, resulting in his detention at a state security facility.

He claimed he was denied access to a telephone and stripped of basic rights, including the ability to shower or communicate with family members, the British embassy, or his wife.

"Because of the tensions and things happening in the region and me being so close to the border, this is why I was suspected of espionage," he explained.

The Dubai-based businessman credited Ms Price with securing his freedom, stating he would not have escaped the situation without her intervention with UK authorities.

"Thank you to Katie for making such a noise where the UAE actually listened and let me go," Andrews said.

However, UAE officials have contradicted Mr Andrews' account of events, confirming he spent the past four weeks behind bars on suspicion of fraud rather than espionage.

Dubai police had previously stated he was being held over a civil dispute, not on suspicion of spying as Ms Price initially told UK media outlets.

Despite the official rebuttal, Mr Andrews maintained his version of events and explicitly denied any involvement in fraudulent activity.

"At no point have I faced anything to do with fraud allegations or any criminal activities such as that," he declared in his Instagram video.

He also revealed he had signed disclaimers with state security and was subsequently "put into the system," adding that he could not disclose further details about his alleged detention.

Mr Andrews was released from Dubai's Al Awir prison on Friday, with legal documents revealing he faced a total fine of £140,000 that needed to be cleared before his release.

Ms Price flew back to Dubai over the weekend to reunite with her husband, with photographs capturing an emotional embrace as she jumped into his arms on Sunday evening.

The couple, who met via Instagram in January and married in Dubai just nine days later, subsequently attended an outdoor rooftop cinema to watch a World Cup football match.

Ms Price shared her husband's video on Instagram, writing: "My husband is back. I love you."
