The pop star died on May 29, her bandmates have confirmed

Lauren Bennett, the English singer who featured on LMFAO's global smash Party Rock Anthem, has died at the age of 37.

The performer passed away in Kent, England on May 29, with her former GRL bandmates publicly confirming the news on Monday through an emotional Instagram statement.

"It is with great sadness that we share the passing of our beloved Lauren," wrote Emmalyn Estrada, Natasha Slayton and Paula Van Oppen.

"Our hearts are broken, and we cannot begin to express how much she meant to us.

"We will forever cherish the love, laughter, and countless memories she gave us. Her beautiful spirit touched so many lives, and she will be deeply missed and forever loved."

No cause of death has been disclosed.

Ms Bennett first rose to prominence as part of the Paradiso Girls, an international group assembled by Pussycat Dolls creator Robin Antin.

That outfit achieved success with their 2009 debut, Patron Tequila, which featured Eve and Lil Jon and reached number three on the Billboard Dance Club Songs chart, before disbanding the following year.

She subsequently became the founding member of Antin's next project, GRL, conceived as a Pussycat Dolls relaunch.

The group made their entrance with Vacation on The Smurfs 2 soundtrack before landing a feature on Pitbull's 2014 track Wild Wild Love.

Their standalone single Ugly Heart proved to be their commercial peak, climbing into the top 20 across the United Kingdom, Australia, and New Zealand, while reaching number two on the Australian charts.

Ms Bennett's most recognisable contribution to pop music came through Party Rock Anthem, the 2011 LMFAO hit that dominated the Billboard Hot 100 for six consecutive weeks.

The Kent-born artist had begun her musical journey in Meopham, entering local talent competitions before forming a duo with a friend as a teenager.

"The pair performed in pubs and bars until Bennett auditioned for The X Factor, progressing to the final 12 contestants before elimination.

That television appearance proved pivotal, leading to an invitation to audition for the newly forming Paradiso Girls in front of music executive Jimmy Iovine and Robin Antin.

After securing her place in the group, Ms Bennett relocated to Los Angeles at just 17 years old to pursue her career.

Ms Bennett is survived by her six-year-old daughter Harlow, whom she shares with dancer and Footloose actor Kenny Wormald.

Her former Paradiso Girls bandmate Aria Crescendo paid tribute on Instagram, writing: "RIP Lauren my sister my best friend I can't believe you left us. We spoke a week before it all happened and I could not imagine that would be the last time I would be able to talk to you. Love you and miss you forever."

Ms Bennett's death marks the second tragedy to befall GRL, following the suicide of bandmate Simone Battle in September 2014 at the age of 25. The group released the tribute single Lighthouse in January 2015 before officially disbanding that June.

Ms Bennett briefly reformed GRL in 2016 alongside Slayton and new member Jazzy Mejia, releasing the track Are We Good?, though the reunion was short-lived.
