Nana Akua has reflected on GB News' remarkable rise over the past five years, thanking viewers for backing the channel after what she described as a difficult start.
Speaking to GB News on the red carpet at the Tric Awards on Tuesday, the presenter looked back on the broadcaster's early days and admitted she is still amazed by how far it has come.
"What I do when I'm here, at these moments, is throw it back to what it was like five years ago, when we were booed and hissed," she said.
The broadcaster recalled attending previous award ceremonies where the channel was met with hostility and scepticism, but said those days now feel firmly behind them.

"I remember walking in at the beginning and no one was really looking," Nana explained. "Now, it's changed."
GB News is once again shortlisted at this year's Television and Radio Industries Club (Tric) Awards, where winners are voted for by the British public.
The broadcaster has enjoyed a string of successes at the annual ceremony, with GB News Breakfast winning Best News Programme for the past three years, while presenters including Charlie Peters, Nigel Farage and Camilla Tominey have also taken home honours.
Nana admitted she was feeling optimistic ahead of this year's ceremony.

"I think we're going to win today," she said, before crediting viewers for the channel's success.
Asked what message she had for the audience who have supported GB News since its launch in 2021, Nana was quick to express her gratitude.
"To our viewers, thank you. Thank you very much," she said.
"Thank you for taking no notice of the nonsense that's been thrown out there, everyone else calling us far-right and everything else like that.

Asked about her striking necklace, she laughed: "That's kind of special. Diamonds, rubies, emeralds..."
She continued: "But I couldn't tell you how much it was worth because I'd have to kill you."
The presenter also revealed she had found her dress on London's famous Portobello Road, telling GB News: "I went there and found all the dresses any woman could ever want.
"I should be back there next week."
