Motorists are overwhelmingly supportive of electric cars, as almost all EV owners admit they would recommend zero emission motoring to others.
New data from Renault shows that a staggering 96 per cent of electric car owners would recommend an EV to friends, family and strangers.
Electric cars are rapidly becoming one of the most popular vehicle types in the UK, with data showing that almost one in four new vehicles sold this year are electric.
Almost two-thirds of drivers opting for EVs name design as the number one reason to choose an electric Renault, ranking it higher than any other factor.
A similar number of drivers explained that it was 60 per cent easier to live with, given accessible home charging and other factors, than previously considered.
Range anxiety, which was once the largest fear around electric cars, is now almost obsolete, with 92 per cent saying they feel confident in the range on typical journeys.
Adam Wood, managing director of Renault UK, noted that the brand's sales had risen dramatically over the last 18 months because of its "head and heart appeal".
He explained that drivers are encouraged to make the switch away from petrol and diesel vehicles towards electric cars once they have lived with an EV.

Mr Wood added: "The responses show that the next wave of EV adoption will be driven by making cars that people genuinely want.
"That's why Renault has focused on developing cars with personality and charm, then made them accessible and affordable."
Data from New AutoMotive shows that Renault has seen an impressive 64.5 per cent increase in year-on-year electric car sales, capturing almost five per cent of the total EV market.
The impressive total of electric car sales year-to-date has seen Renault beat the likes of other established manufacturers, including Mercedes-Benz.

The Renault 4 and Renault 5 have become incredibly popular with a wide range of motorists, featuring those looking for a suitable electric city car, as well as a compact SUV.
Motorists opting for the Renault 4 can make use of the £3,750 Electric Car Grant, with an impressive 249-mile range and rapid charging speeds of 30 minutes from 15 to 80 per cent.
Similarly, the £3,750 Electric Car Grant also applies to the Renault 5 (52 kWh), the Renault Alpine A290, and the Renault Scenic, while the 5 (40 kWh) and Megane are eligible for the £1,500 discount.
Explaining why electric cars were quickly becoming more popular, one Renault 5 owner said their car was "cool", adding: "It's the first car I've owned where people stop and admire the vehicle."

Mr Wood said motorists were buying cars for what they are, rather than what powertrain they contain, with owners not put off from investing in something new.
"The people who chose Renault EVs because they wanted them, are now proving just how well they work in the real world," he concluded.
