UK-based ski holiday company Yodl is in liquidation proceedings after shareholders voted to end the business
Another UK travel company has fallen into liquidation with all vacations being cancelled for holidaymakers - will you be impacted?
Ski Yodl Ltd, a UK-based ski holiday specialist trading under the name Yodl, has gone into voluntary liquidation after its shareholders voted to wind up the business on 22 July.
Richard Cacho, a licensed insolvency practitioner at RCM Advisory Limited, was appointed as liquidator on the same date, according to an official notice in The Gazette signed by director and chairperson Oliver Dannatt.
Every package holiday booked through the company has been cancelled as a consequence of the winding-up.
The firm, registered at 13 The Close in Norwich, was incorporated in March 2018 and specialised in ski holiday packages to destinations such as the French Alps.
On its LinkedIn page, the company described itself as "a collective of ski industry professionals driven to create a customer-centric booking experience with skiing at its core".
ABTA, one of the UK's leading travel trade associations, said it does not believe any active package holiday bookings were in place when the company entered liquidation.
The association nonetheless urged anyone who thinks they may be affected to get in touch by emailing [email protected] with their booking details.
Ski Yodl also offered accommodation-only bookings, which fell outside ABTA's financial protection scheme. For those customers, ABTA advised that anyone who paid by credit or debit card should approach their card provider to seek a refund.
Customers who used alternative payment methods such as bank transfers were directed to lodge their claim directly with the liquidator, RCM Advisory Limited, either by calling 01603 331960 or emailing [email protected].
The news of Ski Yodl's demise prompted tributes on social media. One LinkedIn user called the closure "very sad", writing: "Very sad to see Yodl go into liquidation, a great business concept which had so much potential."
The company's team had highlighted its decades of collective experience living and working in mountain resorts, and had been building what it called "the largest online marketplace of hand-picked stays and experiences in the mountains".
Ski Yodl had also earned recognition as a rising business, securing 44th place in the 2024 Startups 100 index, a ranking that highlights promising emerging companies across the UK.
The company joins a lengthening list of UK travel firms that have either folded or entered insolvency proceedings during 2026.
Ascend Airways and EcoJet Airlines have both entered liquidation, whilst Zenith Aviation Limited and European Cargo have gone into administration.
