The hiring push follows a 29 per cent rise in revenue and growing parcel volumes
A major UK delivery company has announced more than 10,000 new roles in a boost for Britain’s jobs market.
Evri is looking for thousands of couriers and drivers across the country as it expands its delivery network.
The recruitment drive follows what Evri described as a "transformational" 12 months. Their aim is now to handle 1.4 billion parcels a year by the end of the decade.
Its revenue rose by 29 per cent, while the number of parcels it handled increased by 17 per cent following the completion of its merger with DHL eCommerce UK.
Evri, the UK’s largest dedicated parcel delivery company, now handles more than one billion parcels each year. It aims to increase this figure by 40 per cent over the next four years.
The group also invested more than £80million in its network, infrastructure and technology during the 2025/26 financial year.
Most of the new opportunities will be for 7,000 self-employed community couriers ahead of the busy peak delivery season.
Couriers will be able to work regular rounds close to where they live, offering them a flexible way to earn money in their local area.
Evri Premium, A Network of DHL, is separately looking for more than 2,000 owner-drivers across the country to expand its specialist delivery service.
The roles are particularly suited to people who have access to a large, long-wheelbase van.
However, for the first time, people without their own vehicle can also apply through the company’s new “no van, no problem” initiative.
Evri is also recruiting for other positions across its wider operations. These include locally based support roles helping to onboard and coach new recruits.
Carl Lyon, the group's chief operating officer, said: "The Evri Group's success is built on the dedication and expertise of our people, and by investing in our teams now, we not only prepare ourselves for another busy peak season but also support our future growth plans."
He added: "We are already delivering more than one billion parcels a year, and by strengthening our workforce across both our courier and premium delivery networks, we are putting the steps in place as we build towards our ambition of becoming a 1.4 billion parcel business by 2030."
Yesterday's announcement represents the latest stage of the group's broader growth strategy, which has already seen tens of millions of pounds channelled into upgrading its physical infrastructure and digital capabilities over the past financial year.
New recruits joining the self-employed courier network will benefit from the recently launched "Evri-ware" app, which streamlines deliveries through optimised route planning and faster parcel scanning.
Successful applicants also gain access to a suite of perks through the group's partnership with Onsi, a flexible benefits platform offering early pay access, round-the-clock GP consultations and retail discounts.
Couriers who meet eligibility criteria can additionally tap into Evri's "Go Electric" scheme, worth £3,300 over two years towards the cost of an electric vehicle.
At head office level, the group has launched the Evri Group Sales Academy, a structured programme designed to develop the next generation of commercial talent through dedicated onboarding, mentoring and professional development.
