Wetherspoon has confirmed it will open six new venues across the UK
JD Wetherspoon has announced a bumper month of expansion, with six brand-new pubs set to welcome customers across the UK throughout September 2026.
The popular budget chain, renowned for its affordable pints, wallet-friendly meals and beloved all-day breakfasts, will be adding venues in locations ranging from university campuses to airport terminals.
The openings span England and Scotland, with the first new venue launching on 1 September and the final one arriving just before the month ends on the 29th.
Each location brings its own distinctive character, with several taking over former restaurant sites that have undergone significant transformation.
Crewe's The Marshfield Bank Farm House will be the first to open its doors on Tuesday 1 September, occupying a site previously home to a Beefeater restaurant.
The premises have been transformed through a £1.5 million renovation, and the new pub is expected to generate 70 jobs in the Cheshire area.
Later that week, on Friday 4 September, The Red Gown will begin serving customers at St Andrew's University.
Situated within the refurbished Students Association building, the pub derives its name from the traditional graduation attire worn by the university's students.
The venue will be run by the students' union, operating under the Wetherspoons business model.
Southampton will gain its new Wetherspoons on Tuesday 8 September, with The Heath Hotel opening on Beaulieu Road.
Meanwhile, Manchester Airport is set to welcome its inaugural Wetherspoons venue.
Named The Belle Vue after the famous Manchester landmark, the pub will be situated in the Terminal 2 Departures lounge.
Spanning 338 square metres, the airport branch will have capacity for more than 300 travellers to enjoy a drink or meal while awaiting their flights.
It marks a notable addition to the chain's portfolio, bringing Wetherspoons' trademark value pricing to one of the UK's busiest transport hubs.
The Cranborne Hundred in Ferndown will follow on Wednesday 16 September, taking over another former Beefeater location.
The site previously traded under the name The Smugglers Haunt, part of the restaurant chain that is closing all 106 of its outlets by September.
The Ferndown opening has experienced a slight delay, having originally been expected to launch in August.
Completing the month's roster of new venues, The Fletton Brick in Bedford will open on Tuesday 29 September.
The pub is positioned close to the new Universal Studios theme park, placing it in an area likely to see significant footfall from visitors to the attraction.
