A migrant housed at Crowborough camp has been arrested on suspicion of possessing indecent images of children.
The National Crime Agency (NCA) confirmed to the Daily Express that "a man in his twenties was arrested in the Crowborough area on July 10 on suspicion of possessing indecent images of children".
The spokesman added: "It would be inappropriate to comment further at this stage."
Officers in the camp had spoken to the man about his bail conditions, according to the publication.
Around 540 male asylum seekers are currently being accommodated by the Home Office.
Concerns over the housing of asylum seekers in Crowborough have been widespread since the Government first announced the controversial plans.
Kim Bailey, chairman of the Crowborough Shield campaign group, previously told GB News the locals felt "abandoned" by authorities.
Ms Bailey said residents had been forced into a "long, hard slog" to make their voices heard, accusing Labour of pushing through decisions without sufficient consultation.
Having held weekly protests in the town for more than nine months, resident Marmaduke Devereaux-Astley hit out at how the community has been "thrown to the wolves".
Speaking to GB News, Mr Devereaux-Astley said: "This Government have thrown us to the wolves. No one's going to come and save us, no one's coming to help us.
"We are having to fight back in a David and Goliath battle against this Government because they've treated us appallingly."
He explained: "We've never been consulted, we're still not being consulted, and we feel that the Home Office's intent is nefarious and their tactics are duplicitous and downright dishonest, and I'm putting that diplomatically.
A patrol group, Crowborough Aware, has also been set up by volunteers to protect the community, amid antisocial behaviour from illegal migrants in the area.
Speaking to the People's Channel, Dave and James declared they "cannot have this in our community" and will "do it for as long as people want us to do it".
Dave stressed how important their patrols are to the residents, saying: "Crowborough Aware came about because we were concerned, once the camp arrived, about safety and security in our town.
"The police, they don't get out of their cars, they don't get on their feet, they don't do a proper patrol. So we felt that it was necessary to actually do the job of the police to ensure that safety in our town.
"So we're here primarily for the women, the children and for the town whose vast majority want us here, so whilst they want us here, we will keep doing what we're doing."
The Home Office has previously said that asylum accommodation is provided to people who would otherwise be destitute while their claims are processed and accommodation sites are assessed before use.
