Eamonn Holmes has paid tribute to GB News viewers following the programme's record-breaking fourth consecutive TRIC Award victory, sending a heartfelt message of thanks to those who voted for the show.
The GB News Breakfast presenter, who suffered a stroke in April and has been temporarily absent from his presenting duties while undergoing treatment.
It meant he was unable to attend the star-studded ceremony at Grosvenor House, London on Tuesday where GB News was crowned Best News Programme at the 2026 Television and Radio Industries Club Awards for an unprecedented fourth year in a row.
"I'd just like to say a huge thank you to all the viewers who took the time and trouble to vote," Eamonn said.
"To win for the fourth time in a row is unbelievable, and I'm so proud to be a part of Britain's number one news channel."
"I'd dearly wished I could have been there to celebrate with the team, but for now my focus has to be on making a full recovery and getting back to my best."
Holmes also addressed the outpouring of public support he has received since his stroke: "I'd also like to thank everyone who has sent their kind get-well messages. They really do mean the world to me."
The win, determined largely by public vote, sees GB News Breakfast extend its extraordinary winning streak at the TRIC Awards, widely regarded as the UK broadcasting industry's most viewer-driven honours, beating BBC Breakfast, Good Morning Britain and ITV Evening News.
During Eamonn’s absence, presenter Alex Armstrong stepped in to co-host alongside Ellie Costello, with the pair attending Tuesday's ceremony and collecting the award on behalf of the team. Both paid tribute to the viewers whose votes secured the historic win.
"We've got the best viewers in the world, haven't we?" said Alex. "The most loyal viewers, the best viewers” and we can't do it without them."
Ellie added: "I think we are unique at GB News in the way that our viewers are really central to everything that we do."
Ben Briscoe, GB News Head of Programming and Talent, said: "This win once again shows the faith that our viewers and listeners have in the channel. It's their steadfast support for our bold and fearless journalism that has seen GB News become the country's number one news channel. We are hugely grateful to everyone who took the time to vote for us, and very proud of our award-winners."
