Donald Trump unleashes fury at UK's lack of support in Iran war as he issues Falklands threat

Bev asked the US President: "We're worried at the moment in the UK about the Falklands, and your friend Javier Milei said that he's going to make a statement about the Falkland Islands.

"The US has always been neutral on this issue, but would you come to the aid of the UK?"

Mr Trump responded: "Are you saying they want to claim the Falklands?"

As Bev confirmed the UK is wanting to claim sovereignty of the Falklands, the US President told GB News: "Well look, I was there when they had the first war.

"That was a long time ago and I watched it so carefully, and you comported yourselves very well.

"You took it back pretty strongly, but it's a long way away. That's a big trip, it's a long way."

Turning to the war in Iran, Mr Trump took aim at the UK's lack of support for the US amid the conflict, declaring that Britain was "not there to help".

He stressed: "Your country's not doing well. Don't forget, you get a big percentage of your oil from the Strait of Hormuz, and you weren't there to help me.

"Your country was not there to help me. We didn't need help, but I did ask Nato, and I asked your former leader, 'why didn't you send a couple of ships?'

"He said we don't have any, and it was pretty sad, the whole thing. So Nato was not there, even though they get - most of those countries get - a big portion of their oil from there. So we're doing that by ourselves."

Responding to Mr Trump's criticism of Sir Keir Starmer, Bev questioned the US President on whether he was "hurt" by the lack of support from Britain.

He told GB News: "I wasn't hurt... I call it an education process."

Turning the discussion back to the Falklands, Mr Trump argued that the UK is "not the same country it was" when it originally fought and won the territory.

He said: "But the Falklands is very interesting because your country is not the same country it was 20 years ago, 25 years ago. It was a long time ago.

"And you went there and you just took it back very quickly and there was no games. So I don't know if you're prepared to do that. I just don't know if you have the capacity to do that."

Mr Trump then asked Bev: "How big a push is that?"

The GB News presenter responded: "We don't know yet, hopefully not at all. We don't know what the statement is going to be from Milei.

"The other suggestion might be that because we've been potentially somewhat weak on Chagos, in surrendering the Chagos Islands to Mauritius."

The US President told Bev: "That was terrible. They gave it over to people that shouldn't really have it, in my opinion. That was terrible."
