The silence marks a shift for Edoardo, who shared statements for both the couple's fourth and fifth anniversaries

Edoardo Mapelli Mozzi did not share a public post on social media to mark his sixth wedding anniversary with Princess Beatrice on July 17, 2026, marking a huge break in tradition.

The property developer, 42, frequently uses his personal Instagram account, which boasts 174,000 followers, to celebrate his marriage.

In past years, Mr Mapelli Mozzi posted public declarations of affection for Princess Beatrice to mark birthdays, Valentine’s Days, and prior anniversaries.

On the couple's fifth wedding anniversary in 2025, the father-of-three wrote: "Happy 5th Anniversary to my incredible partner, the most beautiful and amazing wife. I cherish every moment we’ve spent together and am deeply grateful for our journey.

"Here’s to countless more years filled with laughter and tons of love!"

For their fourth wedding anniversary in 2024, Mr Mapelli Mozzi shared previously unseen photographs from their wedding day alongside a caption reading: "Happy 4th wedding anniversary my love. Every day is so special with you. I love you so much."

The most recent public update on his personal Instagram account was shared on May 8.

The couple tied the knot on July 17, 2020, in a private ceremony at the Royal Chapel of All Saints at the Royal Lodge in Windsor.

Their initial plans for a large-scale royal wedding in May of that year had to be postponed due to the restrictions of the COVID-19 pandemic.

The rescheduled, low-profile service was attended by a select group of roughly 20 close family members, including Princess Beatrice’s grandparents, the late Queen Elizabeth II and Prince Philip.

For the occasion, Beatrice wore a remodelled vintage Norman Hartnell dress loaned to her by the Queen, paired with Queen Mary’s diamond fringe tiara, which Queen Elizabeth II had worn on her own wedding day in 1947.

The absence of a public acknowledgement this year follows a period of heightened scrutiny surrounding Mr Mapelli Mozzi.

LATEST ROYAL DEVELOPMENTS

The property developer was recently forced to publicly address speculation regarding his extensive solo business trips to the United States.

In a direct statement to the Daily Mail, Mr Mapelli Mozzi pushed back against the criticism, stating: "As you well know, it is completely normal for a business owner to travel for work. It happens in every industry."

The couple has also been the subject of media rumours regarding marital strain, which close friends subsequently dismissed as "complete nonsense".

Further press attention has focused on Mr Mapelli Mozzi's family background, following reports questioning his branch of the family's legal claim to their £2.5million ancestral home, the 18th-century Villa Mapelli Mozzi in Lombardy, Italy.

Meanwhile, Princess Beatrice has maintained a low profile over the past several months.

She has noticeably stepped back from the royal limelight and public appearances, choosing not to attend Royal Ascot or Wimbledon.

This period of lying low coincides with the ongoing legal difficulties surrounding Andrew Mountbatten-Windsor, following his arrest on suspicion of misconduct in a public office earlier this year.

Mr Mountbatten-Windsor has consistently denied any wrongdoing.
