The Sussexes have kept details of their children's new school private
Prince Archie, seven, and Princess Lilibet, five, have begun attending school in Britain for the first time, a fortnight after the Duke and Duchess of Sussex relocated from their California base.
The milestone was confirmed on Thursday, with a source close to Prince Harry and Meghan Markle claiming that getting the children settled "has been, and remains, their focus."
"There is a lot to do. They have just moved halfway across the world, and it's been really busy getting the kids settled," the source said. "Their focus has been on that, and will remain on that, for the time being. They are happy to be back."
The source continued to tell People that "everything else will fall into place when the time is right."
The Sussex family touched down in Britain on August 26, having spent six years based primarily in the United States. They have set up home at a private residence outside London that is not a royal property, while holding on to their house in Montecito, California.
Harry's wish for his children to develop a connection with his homeland was central to the decision to return.
A source previously told People that the duke had been "thinking about it for a while," with another noting that he wants Archie and Lilibet "to understand the world he grew up in and where their family comes from."
The couple's status as non-working members of the Royal Family remains unchanged following their arrival.
Archie was born in London in May 2019 and spent his earliest months in Britain before his parents moved to North America the following year, well before he reached school age.
Lilibet arrived in California in June 2021 and had only visited her father's home country twice prior to the relocation.
This summer, Archie and Lilibet were reunited with King Charles - their first meeting with the monarch in four years, dating back to the Platinum Jubilee celebrations of 2022.
They are not the only young royals marking a significant school transition this month. Their cousin Prince George was accompanied by the Prince and Princess of Wales to Eton College on Tuesday, beginning his first term at the boarding school.
Harry has already begun stepping out for professional engagements since the family's return. He was spotted at a film and television studio in London on September 7, marking his first public appearance since arriving back in Britain.
Meghan, meanwhile, has expressed enthusiasm about what life in the UK can offer their children. A Montecito insider told People that she "feels very fortunate that they're able to give Archie and Lilibet the opportunity to experience both worlds."
The couple have not disclosed whether their children are enrolled at the same school, and the identity of the institution itself has not been revealed.
Specifics about the family's new home are similarly being kept under wraps, consistent with the Sussexes' longstanding approach of shielding Archie and Lilibet from public scrutiny.
