The conversation will explore weighty subjects, including trauma, coping strategies, identity and grief

The Duke of Sussex will feature on Joe Marler's podcast this Monday, with the episode dropping at 5pm to coincide with the one-year countdown to the Invictus Games Birmingham 2027.

Prince Harry, who founded the international sporting event for wounded veterans, will be joined by broadcaster and former competitor JJ Chalmers on the show.

The Celebrity Traitors winner, Mr Marler, hosts the programme alongside Jake Bhardwaj, with the former England rugby international teasing the appearance on social media.

"We finally managed to squeeze him in," Mr Marler wrote, captioning a trailer for the upcoming episode featuring the duke.

A promotional clip for the episode captures the playful tone, with Mr Marler asking Harry to state his full name.

"Henry Charles Albert David, Duke of Sussex," the prince responded, prompting Mr Bhardwaj to exclaim: "It's a long one!"

As the duke appeared in the trailer, both hosts could be heard enthusiastically chanting "duke, duke, duke" to welcome their royal guest.

The conversation will explore weighty subjects, including trauma, coping strategies, identity and grief, while also touching on more lighthearted matters.

Mr Marler explained: "We try to pride ourselves on the ability to go from light to dark to serious to fun, because, for me, it's just one big conversation."

Since its launch last year, Joe Marler Will See You Now has accumulated 9.5 million long-form streams alongside 170 million views across social media platforms.

The show has welcomed a diverse range of high-profile guests, including comedian Katherine Ryan, former QI host Stephen Fry, and Nick Mohammed, who appeared alongside Mr Marler on Celebrity Traitors.

The episode featuring Harry and Chalmers will be available from Monday at 5pm across YouTube, Spotify and other major podcast platforms.

The podcast appearance follows Harry's visit to the National Exhibition Centre in Birmingham on Friday, where he showcased his wheelchair rugby abilities at the Invictus Games launch event.

During the occasion, the duke met television presenter Alison Hammond, telling her: "By the way, my kids loved you in the Bake Off – absolutely love it. I love it as well."

When Ms Hammond asked whether his family expressed pride in his work, Harry responded: "They don't tell me every day that they're proud of me, but yeah, I'm proud of them, they're proud of me, I love my family."

The Duchess of Sussex did not attend Friday's event but did travel to Britain with Prince Archie, seven, and Princess Lilibet, five, where they were reunited with King Charles and Queen Camilla at Highgrove House.
