His Majesty has not seen Princess Lilibet since she was a one-year-old baby
King Charles and Queen Camilla hosted the Duke and Duchess of Sussex, Prince Archie and Princess Lilibet at Highgrove House on Friday afternoon, GB News can confirm.
The People's Channel understands that since this was a private occasion, no photographs will be released from the family reunion.
Following intense speculation regarding their whereabouts, it turns out that Meghan, Archie and Lilibet did return to the UK after all.
Prince Harry hosted his One Year To Go event for the Invictus Games in Birmingham alone on Friday, as Meghan and the couple's two children were not photographed in public.
Archie, seven, and five-year-old Lilibet's return to the UK marks their first visit since 2022.
Four years ago, the youngsters accompanied the Duke and Duchess of Sussex to England for Queen Elizabeth II's Platinum Jubilee.
Friday's reunion also marks the first time King Charles has physically seen Meghan and his youngest grandchildren since that period.
While Archie was born in Portland Hospital in Westminster in 2019, Princess Lilibet was born in Santa Barbara, California two years later.
Prince Harry did travel to meet his father in September last year for a brief, 50-minute private tea at Clarence House.
This week has been a tough period for the Duke of Sussex, who found out on Tuesday, while on British soil, that he lost his legal battle against the publisher of the Daily Mail.
At the time the verdict was announced, the father-of-two was pictured at his first UK engagement of the week at Chatham House, appearing visibly shaken following the publicisation of the news.
Meghan, 44, pulled out of the Invictus Games one-year countdown event in Birmingham due to ongoing security concerns following a dispute over state-funded police protection.
LATEST ROYAL DEVELOPMENTS
The decision to cancel her scheduled public appearance stems from the ruling by the Royal and VIP Executive Committee (Ravec) that the Sussexes are no longer automatically entitled to UK police protection after stepping back as senior royals.
Because adequate security could not be guaranteed, she and her representatives decided she would not make any public appearances during the UK visit, leaving Prince Harry to attend the engagements solo.
Although it was confirmed that Meghan, Archie and Lilibet would not travel to London, it remained unclear whether they would appear elsewhere in the UK to support the Duke of Sussex.
The family's reunion taking place at Highgrove House is symbolic, given it is where the King raised Prince William and Prince Harry as young boys.
It now serves as the private residence of King Charles and Queen Camilla, located southwest of Tetbury in Gloucestershire.
Earlier today, His Majesty was photographed visiting Harwell Campus in Oxfordshire, which is only an hour's drive away from Highgrove.
Meanwhile, the NEC in Birmingham, where Harry's Invictus Games event was held on Friday, is a slightly longer drive, totalling an hour and a half.
