Adding it to your plan costs less than the average price of a cup of coffee
Vodafone is taking aim at unreliable mobile speeds with its latest unveiling, SuperMobile — a new premium plan that guarantees customers download speeds of at least 15Mbps. The company claims it's the first mobile network anywhere in the world to make that promise.
To put that in perspective, you should be able to watch TV and stream in HD without any lag or the network dipping below those speeds.
The plan runs on Vodafone's new upgrade called 5G+ FastTrack, which is meant to be a dedicated fast lane on the network. It delivers speeds up to four times quicker than standard Vodafone plans, making it ideal for streaming, gaming, and watching live telly while you're out and about.
And if speeds do fall below that guaranteed minimum, you can walk away from your contract without paying a penny.
Vodafone's Chief Executive Officer Max Taylor said: "Vodafone SuperMobile is tangible evidence of what the Vodafone and Three merger makes possible: better connectivity and real choice for customers.
"The UK needs to go faster, and with the country's largest, best spectrum holding, and our £11bn investment, we will build a faster, higher-quality network than anyone else.
"SuperMobile is super-fast, super-reliable and super-secure. Ideal for consumers watching content on-the-go, AI applications or businesses looking to benefit from digital transformation."
Vodafone says the timing couldn't be better either. The company confirmed video content consumption has jumped by 75%, putting more pressure on mobile networks as you spend more time streaming, watching short-form videos, and consuming other data-heavy content on the go. That includes everything from Netflix and YouTube to TikTok, Instagram Reels and live sports, with more phones used to stream music, play online games, and make video calls while away from Wi-Fi.
At the same time, Artificial Intelligence (AI) apps are becoming part of everyday life. Services such as Google Gemini, ChatGPT and Claude are increasingly being used for everything from answering questions and writing emails to researching topics, creating content and solving problems. You might also use AI to generate and edit images, summarise documents, translate languages, plan trips, analyse files and even create videos — all capable of dragging down your mobile speeds.
The plan also comes with advanced protection powered by 5G+ encryption, plus a feature called Secure Net Mobile thrown in at no extra cost. This covers malware and virus defence, identity protection, scam call blocking, and network-level parental controls — all baked right in.
So how much does all this cost? If you have an existing Vodafone contract, you can add SuperMobile for just £3 a month on top of full-speed Xtra plans.
If you're on a SIM-only 100Mbps plan, it's £8 extra, while handset customers on 100Mbps plans pay £4 more.
And if you want to try out the high speeds without a full contract, you can take part in a rolling monthly add-on option for £12.
The new plan is not designed just for individual users either. If you have a small business with up to nine staff, you can also sign up for a plan.
