If you've ever found yourself endlessly scrolling through TV shows and movies without actually watching anything, Disney+ has just rolled out a new feature that could help.
Dubbed Playlists, instead of picking individual films or episodes, you can now dive into a themed collection that plays continuously. These curated streams are built around genres, franchises, favourite characters, or even your current mood.
It's essentially Disney+'s answer to choice paralysis — that familiar feeling of spending more time browsing than actually enjoying anything on screen.
Each playlist is meant to shuffle its content automatically, but you still get full control to pause, skip, rewind, or fast-forward whenever you like.
There's already a diverse range to choose from. For instance, if you prefer a Pixar playlist, it's available. On the other hand, if you want to stick to Bluey for the kids, that's available, too. You can also find collections for Modern Family, Mickey and Friends, action and adventure films, romantic comedies, stand-up comedy, Horror, and even Family Guy.
Disney is also planning seasonal playlists throughout the year, with Halloween-themed collections on the way soon. The feature is available on the homepage and across the platform.
The concept isn't entirely new to the streaming world, though. Back in 2020, Netflix trialled a feature called Direct in France — a scheduled linear stream aimed at anyone who wants to turn on and watch without scrolling through other options first.
A year later, Netflix followed up with Play Something, a personalised tool that rolled out globally in 2021. It's designed to pick and instantly play a movie or TV show for you based on your viewing history.
As for what Disney+ costs, prices went up in late September 2025. The ad-supported tier sits at £5.99 monthly, while the standard plan costs £9.99 per month or £99.99 for the year. Premium subscribers pay £14.99 monthly or £149.90 annually for 4K and Dolby Atmos.
This is similar to Paramount+, which just went through price hikes in the UK late last month.
Netflix also recently increased its prices, with the cheapest plan being nearly £100 annually.
HBO Max's entry-level plan is only £4.99 per month, while Prime Video remains £7.99 per month.
