The next major reveal for Grand Theft Auto VI will land on Netflix, Rockstar Games confirmed.
If you're a Netflix subscriber, this means you'll get an exclusive first look at what you can expect to come from the highly anticipated game set to release on November 19.
Brandon Riegg, VP of Nonfiction Series, said: "Grand Theft Auto reveals have become cultural moments in their own right. The anticipation and fandom around Grand Theft Auto VI is unprecedented, and we’re honored that Rockstar Games has partnered with us to debut the next part of the Grand Theft Auto story with Netflix members first.
"It’s a reflection of what we hope Netflix is becoming: a place where the most ambitious storytelling, from any medium, can find the biggest possible audience.”
The presentation, titled Grand Theft Auto VI: An Extended Look, will go live on the streaming platform on Thursday, August 27 at 8pm BST.
And as the title suggests, this trailer could be much longer than the two previously released.
A Reddit user asked Netflix's Artificial Intelligence (AI) customer support chatbot about the runtime and was told the showcase would last roughly 20 minutes. While AI chatbots aren't exactly known for their reliability, it would match up with the title stating an extended look.
It would also be quite the step up from other runtimes. The longest trailer for GTA 6 so far has only been just over two minutes.
It's also worth noting that previous Rockstar gameplay reveals for titles like GTA V and Red Dead Redemption 2 ran for around six to seven minutes, so a 20-minute presentation would be a significant step up.
Given the rumoured 20-minute runtime, there's a real chance Rockstar could go beyond a standard trailer and deliver something closer to a mini-documentary about the game's development. The previous two trailers have only shown mission structure, side characters, and parts of the world itself.
That said, Rockstar is famously secretive about how it works, so a deep behind-the-scenes look might be wishful thinking.
And, if you don't have a Netflix subscription, there is another way to watch without paying the minimum £5.99 per month subscription.
You'll also be able to watch the extended trailer on the official Rockstar Games YouTube channel and the GTA 6 site.
The catch? The footage won't land until six hours after the Netflix debut — 2am BST on August 28 for UK viewers.
In simple terms, Netflix subscribers get first dibs, and everyone else has to wait. It's a bold move that caught plenty of fans off guard.
Rockstar's own social media channels and the GTA 6 website won't have the footage until 2am — meaning a very late night or an early morning in the UK if you want to avoid spoilers.
GTA 6 has also been delayed twice, but was originally scheduled for a release last year. Its first trailer was released in early 2025.
If you've never played the game before, the Grand Theft Auto franchise is an action-adventure video game series created by DMA Design (now Rockstar North) and published by Rockstar Games. The series is best known for its sprawling cities and crime-driven narratives.
Analysts are also predicting that this could be one of the biggest releases in gaming history, potentially driving record-breaking sales for the entire industry. For context, Minecraft has sold the most copies in history, totalling over 350,000,000. GTA V trails behind that with more than 225,000,000 copies sold globally.
