New routes: Holidaymakers get easier route to tropical paradise as same-day flights return to UK airports

Britons will soon have a quicker and easier way to reach one of Central America’s most spectacular destinations, with same-day flight connections to Belize returning from the UK later this year.

Air Canada will bring back its service connecting London Heathrow, Edinburgh and Manchester with Philip Goldson International Airport (BZE) in Belize City via Montréal-Trudeau International Airport (YUL).

The route will return on Sunday, December 6, 2026, giving UK travellers the chance to leave UK in the morning and arrive in Belize on the same day. It will also launch same-day flights from Dublin to Belize.

Without this route, travellers heading to Belize often have overnight layovers when connecting via Mexico or the US.

The returning service is expected to make reaching the Central American country considerably easier for British holidaymakers.

Those travelling from London Heathrow will be able to fly to Montreal before connecting directly to Belize later that day.

The flight from London to Montreal takes around seven hours, while the onward journey to Belize takes approximately five hours.

Return flights from London Heathrow to Belize start from £686.

The route first launched in December 2025 and is now returning for the 2026/27 winter season, improving connectivity between the UK, Europe and Central America.

It is the only country in Central America where English is the official language, meaning holidaymakers do not have to worry about a language barrier when exploring the country.

With flights returning in December, Britons looking for a long-haul escape this winter will soon have another option for reaching the Central American destination without the need for an overnight stopover.
